Janine D. is a Lebanese pop star. Her songs and videos address life's big questions, including gender roles in the Middle East, the effects of decision-making, and other pressing social issues. I wrote the lyrics to Beautiful Empty, her English debut song. It's about a romantic relationship in which the woman is devoted to her lover, but the more she gives, the less she gets in return.
